Greg grew up in a small West Virginia town with his parents and brother. He graduated in 1977 from West Virginia University with a B.S. in Business. After college he took a job in New Jersey where he met and married his wife Jo Ann. From 1987 to 2003, Greg served as the Chief Financial Officer for Discovery Communications, Inc. (the company that owns Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet and other cable TV networks around the world). Sometime in 2000, the satisfaction that he felt from his job at Discovery began to diminish. He began to feel as though the things that he was doing every day were not as exciting and important as he once thought they were. He also began to become more and more certain that God was beckoning him to start walking on a different path. In January 2003 he left Discovery to begin his study for the ministry. Greg graduated with honors from Wesley Theological Seminary this year. During his studies he did one year of course work at Gettysburg Theological Seminary. He interned at Bethany Lutheran Church in Brunswick, Maryland and did a chaplaincy at Roper Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. He was ordained in September 2008. Greg, Jo Ann, and their three children, Sara, Amanda, and Garett, live in Great Falls, Virginia. |
