O God, judge eternal, you love justice and hate oppression, and you call us to share your zeal for truth. Give us courage to take our stand with all victims of bloodshed and greed, and, following your servants and prophets, to look to the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Amen.

God’s Work Our Hands (GWOH): We’ll be collecting school supplies and/or donations through September 7. You can donate online by designating your gift to GWOH, write GWOH on the memo line of the check, or drop the school supplies in the designated box in the Fellowship Hall.

The Fort Washington Food Pantry (FWFP) will collect perishable & non-perishable food on Thursday and Friday from 8 -11am at St. John's Episcopal Church. The last food distribution at St John is Saturday, August 23 from 8-10 am. Volunteers are welcome on Saturdays!

Blessing of the Backpacks, Sunday, August 24: We will be blessing backpacks, school supplies and especially all the students and educators who will be using them throughout the school year.

Rally Day/GWOH Sunday, September 7 - We’ll be blessing the school supplies and celebrate Rally Day with a potluck after worship. Please sign-up and let us know what you’ll bring. Lutheran Disaster Response: In response to the Texas floods, Lutheran Disaster Response is coordinating with the Southwestern Texas Synod to address urgent needs, provide emotional and spiritual care, and support cleanup and long-term recovery. If you are led to contribute through Grace, please designate your contribution for LDR.
